Designing a custom piece of jewelry is one of the most rewarding processes you can experience. To take your unique personality and put it into a jeweled work of art, either for yourself or as a gift, can make it your most personal and prized possession. At Alchemy, we are honored to have the opportunity to work with you to create something that is uniquely yours and can be treasured for many years to come.THE DESIGN APPOINTMENTThe design consultation is one of the most important parts of the jewelry creation process. We prefer to schedule a design appointment whenever possible, that way we can be sure to set aside a block of time just for you. Please bring in your ideas, photos, sketches and any gemstones that you want to use with you. You will work directly with our artist / designers to discover the style and concepts that matches your personality and lifestyle. Please keep in mind that our artist are exactly that... artist. We are intuitive, diversified, quirky creatives that sometimes push the boundaries and sometimes play it safe, but we will always try our very best to capture your vision,so please be prepared for a fun and fascinating experience.
If gemstones are part of your vision, we will usually start the process by helping to choose the best stone for you. We stock many fine quality stones, and if we don’t have your perfect stone on hand, we have an amazing number of dedicated resources that can find exactly what you are looking for.
. THE FINALIZED DESIGN
After your design appointment, we’ll take your ideas, concepts and sketches and create a design of your finished jewel along with a finalized quote. Written estimates will be honored for 15 days and may be subject to change depending on fluctuation of stone and metals markets. We typically prefer the age old tradition of designing jewelry by sketching in detail using pencil and paper. Sometimes its more appropriate to use our state of the art 3-D computer modeling software that generates a photo-realistic renderings. This 3-D process can take a few days to complete depending on the difficulty and could even require a deposit to cover the labor cost.
PAYMENTOnce the design is approved and a quote is given, we require a deposit to move forward. Depending on the circumstance, we typically require at least 50% down along with full payment towards any special ordered stones. We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash.
TIME LINE
The custom process, from design appointment to delivery, can generally take anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks. We will always try to accommodate as much as possible for upcoming events that require a quick turnaround, but keep in mind that this could ad additional expense as overtime charges may be required. The complexity of the job and our current workload will determine the standard timing. All we ask is please be patient. We can control many factors when it comes to creating jewelry, but we can not control time itself. This is an art form that requires great skill and dedication. It is becoming increasingly rare to find individuals that are talented and as devoted to their craft as those who work at Alchemy. We are in demand and humbled to be your jeweler.
